Support Specialist

​

ROCKET provides project delivery and professional services for several media companies in Canada. An important part of that project life-cycle is our ability to provide support after the project is delivered. Clients reach out to us as a first line of support for many different applications and platforms. Because we are involved in so many aspects of their business, we can typically assist with resolving issues quicker due to our holistic knowledge of the environment. We also have several clients who are on long-term engagements with us, retaining our services to augment and support their teams

You will assist with a number of initiatives from new project deployments to managed services supporting our team as well as our clients.

​

Requirements

·       Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude

·       Organizational, communication and documentation skills

·       Initiative to self-lead when needed,  taking on tasks and staying with them to completion

·       Work well in teams and with clients and vendors

·       system and application troubleshooting skills

 

Responsibilities

·       Manage and respond to support requests via email or phone calls

·       Open tickets with vendors on behalf of clients and follow through with them

·       Escalate or involve other ROCKET crew members as needed

·       Further maintain our internal issue tracker

·       Assist our projects team with aspects of project deployments

·       Assist project transition teams with hand-over to support

·       Assist with, update and maintain client documentation

·       Contribute to internal support wiki with technical documentation, manuals, etc.

 

Project Transition Specialist

A key part of our project life-cycle experience is transition management. A project transition plan helps our clients set expectations and efficiently transition from the implementation phase to the maintenance and support phase. It also helps our internal support teams prepare for supporting our clients once the project has been successfully delivered.

​

You will be involved from project launch, working with the project delivery team to help identify opportunities for training, prepare acceptance testing check lists and define project sign-off requirements.

​

You will work with our internal support team to make sure they have all necessary information, documentation and training to support projects after they have been delivered.

​

You will also work with our clients to ensure their teams have all the necessary training, documentation and contact information to ensure a successful project transition experience.

Requirements

Responsibilities

·       Project delivery team support (hands on support is a plus)

·       Scope of work documentation

·       Project planning and transition requirement discovery and planning

·       Project change management assistance

·       User Acceptance Testing prep and assistance

·       Technical Acceptance Testing prep and assistance

·       Assist with organizing and conducting training sessions

·       Prepare and organize project documentation

·       Internal wiki documentation

·       Support team assistance and escalation assistance

Virtual Production Technologist

Our crew has successfully delivered virtual set and ICVFX technology projects for several content creators in Canada. We provide consulting, project management, installation, commissioning, continued support and subject matter expertise ranging from camera tracking, LED volumes, camera robotics, system design, workflow and more.

We are actively looking to add more members to our crew who can assist with delivering these types of projects for Broadcasters, VFX/Film producers and various other content creators in Canada.

​

As this is a multidisciplinary role, applicants with any combination of virtual production experience (aside from creative aspects) may be considered.

System Administrator

ROCKET is looking for a system administrator to join our team and assist with supporting a number of initiatives from new project deployments to managed services and support for our clients.

 

An experienced system administrator with media, video or post production context is preferred.

 

Requirements

·       Located within the greater Toronto area

·       Proven experience as a System Administrator

·       Experience with networking

·       Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery solutions

·       Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms

·       Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude

·       Excellent organizational, communication and documentation skills

·       Initiative to self-lead,  taking on tasks and staying with them

·       Team oriented

·       Work well with clients and Vendors

 

Your foundational experience should include:

·       Experience as a sysadmin with various Server and Workstation operating systems including Windows and Linux

·       Experience of the Microsoft Server platform and its components including Active Directory, Windows Server 2012-2019, DNS, DHCP, MDT and other related technologies

·       A solid understanding of TCP/IP networking

·       Experience with Virtual Machine platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V

 

Some nice-to-have but not required experience includes:

·       Experience with using Kubernetes, docker, Ansible, terraform and other cloud-oriented fundamentals

·       Ability to create scripts for automating tasks

·       AWS cloud experience

 

Responsibilities Include:

·       Install and configure operating systems and software for various application requirements

·       Maintaining and Managing servers (evaluate, plan and propose schedules for updates)

·       Monitor performance and maintain systems according to best practice requirements

·       Monitor support requested and troubleshoot issues for clients

·       Open tickets with vendors on behalf of clients and follow them through to resolve.

·       Develop expertise to train clients on new technologies

·       Contribute to internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies

·       Assist ROCKET’s crew, vendors and clients with various IT related activities

·       Managing domain user accounts (adding/removing users, password resets, etc.)
